Phil’s Fencing has been working in and around the Dandenong Ranges for almost 20 years. Chances are he’s completed some fencing on your street and you may have seen the cars around.

We are genuinely local. We support local businesses and proudly sponsor the Belgrave South Football Club. Based out of Belgrave South, we have a team of 5 fencers who are also all local to the hills! We take pride in our work and want you to be satisfied with your fencing because we rely on word of mouth referrals.

We were one of the first to use galvanised steel posts for paling fences. This is great because they will never rot!

The general life span of a timber fence these days is about 8 years so by using steel posts you can be confident that your fence posts last.

If you are wanting cypress posts, we bitumen paint the bottom of the post to just above ground level so that they will last longer.

Please Contact Us if you need a quote.

What we DON’T do:

  • We don’t cut corners to cut costs. Everything will be listed on your quote down to post depths and the types of screws used.

  • Colourbond Style Fencing.

  • Electric or Barbed wire Fencing.

  • Painting & Staining. We’ve done it in the past & Phil really dislikes it… so has decided that he will stick with fencing , not painting! We can arrange for delivery of your timber prior to the build so that you can paint or stain.

  • Permits. Please visit the council website to see if you require a permit for your fence. You can click here for the Yarra Ranges Council site to see if you need a permit. Boundary fences between neighbours usually do NOT need a permit. Sometimes there will be rules to what kind of fencing you can have at the front of your home. If you tell us to build your fence we do assume that you have required the relevant permissions to do so.

  • Arrange a Notice to Fence OR chase your neighbours for payment. You will need to communicate with your neighbours about the need for a new fence. If you are having trouble, please click Here for more information on Fencing Laws in Victoria. Some people will opt to pay for the entire cost of a fence and not involve neighbours, especially if you want a unique design or if you are changing a style of fence and the pre-existing fence is adequate. If your neighbour is on board and want to be invoiced separately for payment, they can sign the quote and return it to us with their full details and we are happy to separate the payments. You will be invoiced for the total fence cost if no prior arrangements have been made with neighbours.

  • Electric Gate Installation. Yes we have our own electric gates - They are great! However they need trades such as an Electrician & a Concreter. If you need electric gates, please reach out and we can point you in the right direction.
